MICRONESIA CALLING
November, 2009

Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!

May the blessing of the Lord be with you and His grace upon you. Our many thanks to all of you for your faithful prayers and support. It makes a difference in our lives and the lives of those we touch here in Micronesia.

Micronesia Bible College: About 2/3 of the way through our fall semester. We've been blessed by God's presence in our classes and chapel time. Preparing for Spring semester; class schedule is set and book ordering to take place soon. Our national general superintendent called for a work day last Sat, 11/7, and we had 32 men and boys show up to help with block laying and plastering of inside walls. We are 90% complete in that part of our 1st floor dorm. Praise God.

The Bible College will be doing two morning services at the end of this month in local churches. Planning a special Thanksgiving Day with our fellow missionaries and students and at the Chi Alpha meeting on Friday night as well.

Chi Alpha going well - averaging 30 students each week. God is faithful and lives are being touched.

Prayer requests:
Health, wisdom and strength for Bill and Mary-Ann and our children in the US.
God's Spirit poured out upon students and staff of Micronesia Bible College.
Continued funds for completion of new dorm. Approximately $5000 more to go.
Upcoming MBC services. (at the International Christian Fellowship 11/22 & Sokehs Pah AG 11/29)
Chi Alpha ministry on national Campus of College of Micronesia.

Once again our love and thanks, we appreciate all of you very much, without you we could not be here!

Greetings from Pohnpei, Micronesia!

The full schedule for Micronesia Bible College began September 1st. For the enrollment for the fall semester, there are 8 full-time students for day classes and there are two evening classes offered, one with 18 part-time students, the other with 20. We are off to a great start this school year and believing God to work in the hearts of the students.

Chi Alpha (the college ministry on the national campus of the College of Micronesia) is being well-attended. There are many new freshman who have joined in the weekly Friday night activities. This campus ministry reaches many different young adults from many of the islands in the Federated States of Micronesia. It is exciting to see them join in wanting to know more about the Lord. Two Chi Alpha students this semester are taking part-time classes at Micronesia Bible College in the evening.

Construction is proceeding at Micronesia Bible College. The "hired" construction company has completed their part and now it is the staff and students along with volunteer from the local churches to backfill, pour the concrete floor for the first level, lay block, do electrical and plumbing. As the Lord continues to provide finances for this work to be done, we have a target date to open the first level with a new kitchen for the students, restrooms and girls dormitory space before the start of the spring semester which begins this coming January. Special thanks to all of you who have prayed and contributed financially towards this building project. There is approximately $7000 more that is needed to complete the first level. To send finances in for the building project. Please send to: Assemblies of God World Missions, 1445 N. Boonville Ave., Springfield, MO 65802 Please mark your giving for Micronesia Bible College -- Building Project #5618.

Prayer Requests:

-Micronesia Bible College Students --- Help in understanding their studies.
-Chi Alpha Ministry --- More students to attend -- still some islands not represented.
-Construction at Micronesia Bible College --- Protection of workers, wisdom in construction, God's provision for completion.
-Newest AG outpost "church" meeting in the national capital (Palikir). God's protection of the new believers in that church as cults are strong in this particular area and trying to influence the people.
-God would raise up more committed students for Micronesia Bible College for full-time ministry to the islands.

Greetings in Jesus wonderful name,

May the grace and peace of God our Father and Jesus Christ the Lord be with you today and forever. May God strengthen you, give you health, wisdom, peace and joy, may you be fruitful and your fruit remain for His glory.

The Federated States of Micronesia General Council meetings (7/15-18) on Kosrae went well. Once again we experienced God's faithfulness and grace. A new general secretary was elected.

Micronesia Bible College:

Construction: Contractor work on new building should be finished last week of the month. Then it will be our turn to finish up the bottom floor - concrete slab, plumbing, electric, walls.

Recently a small Micronesia Bible College apartment was cleaned, painted ready for use by a married couple who will be arriving for school. The old dorm has necessary remodel/repair work to be done in preparation for the single male students arriving later this month.

Classes: 1 wk. long basic study skills class starts 8/25 for fulltime students and on Sept 1 our Fall semester classes begin with day time schedule of Leadership, Church Administration, Christ and Salvation, and English. Evening classes will be Cults and Introduction to Counseling

Students: off island students begin arriving Sat. 8/8

Chi Alpha ministry has continued over the summer. Attendance was down but God was faithful and lives touched. The College of Micronesia Fall semester will start next week so we expect to see an increase in attendance and new students joining in.

Prayer requests:

Micronesia Bible College --- new and returning students, open hearts and minds. Teachers, wisdom and anointing from God. A fresh move of the Holy Spirit in our midst. Funds for the material needed to finish bottom level of new building.

Federated States of Micronesia --- Outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Spirit of unity amongst brethren. New Federated States of Micronesia General Council leadership.

Personal --- Continued good health, strength, wisdom, sensitivity to the Spirit's leading. Our children and grandchildren in US; health, protection and provision. For our family and friends who need a living relationship with Jesus as Lord and Savior.

For all of you who have partnered with us --- God's continued blessings upon your lives. May He watch over you, guide you, protect and provide for you, may you be aware of His great love for you and His Presence surrounding you.

Special thanks to all of you who have already provided finances to help with the building project!

Thanks to all of you. We love you and appreciate you. Our love and prayers,

Our Previous Newletter:

July, 2009

Greetings Dear Friends and Family,

May grace and peace from God, our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be with you today and all your tomorrows.

Happy Independence Day! May the Lord send a special blessing upon those of you who use this day as a witness time for Jesus. May He grant you much fruit.

I love the "Fourth of July" and the wonderful yet sometimes crazy celebration that goes on. Today, since it is already the 4th of July here, as Americans we have been invited to the new US Embassy compound recently completed for an open house. However, also today, I am thinking about another "independence day", the day I was set free from Satan and sin's bondage. The day I found true freedom and received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Now that was a Great and Wonderful day. Praise God! Thank you Father for sending your Son, Jesus, for setting me free in Him and giving me life abundantly!

And just as our national independence came about by the sacrifices of our forefathers so was our independence from sin by the sacrifice of Jesus. It may be hard to comprehend but "he made him (Jesus) who knew no sin to become sin for us that we might receive the rightousness of God in him (Jesus)". Let me encourage you to take a little time as you celebrate today to thank God and celebrate what God has done for you in His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Updates:

- Construction is progressing on our new building, foundation dug, concrete being poured and columns being raised. Our back yard is a mess but welcome in this case.

- Chi Alpha continues on through the summer - 25 students in attendance last night. 9 new students in attendance the last 2 weeks.

Prayer requests:

- FSM General Council July 15th-18th. We'll both be speaking & teaching.

- Asking for God's anointing, His presence and wisdom, and that He be glorified in everything.

- MBC - fall semester starts August 24th, Pray for students: past, present and future.

- Our fellow missionaries in their fields of labor.

- Our nation that God's will be done in Amercia & the Church be set on fire with the Fire of the Holy Spirit.
